Thanks Mattrom!
I am very Scottish and very wrinkled; and I know how the clue will work. But can’t see it.
Have you a nudge for 7d, thought it was OSLO for a while, (gods allow, - odd) but now think that doesn’t fit with 16a.

7d. is the name of a 'mother of gods', (doesn't come up in my Chambers), misprint in 'odd'
There are variant spellings for 16a. I had the incorrect one at first.

Turns out the NE corner could’ve been called Scotch Corner!
Only finished them by solving the quotation that runs through it. Very obscure words!

I've had a bumpy ride on this one and now is time to ask for help from my friends. I finished the grid remarkably quickly (by my standards), although I cannot parse 13 across for the life of me. I know the 4x4 which is the last three letters backed, but where do the other two come from?

I guessed the film from the title, assuming it is the most famous quote, confirmed by the first word of the misprints, I know the shape but where does the 29 cell start? Are all 26 letters (Bar one?) in the extra words?

Or, to put it another way, we are well into the week so someone please help!!

Williamseal, the middle of your 13 A is 'nut once', it's a crossword favourite.

Williamseal, your 13 A should be a big help in seeing some of the 29 cells, shape...

Thanks Malone
I'd got 4 down wrong - which hardly helped!

Woo-hoo - all done under my own steam! (OK, with considerable help from Mr Chambers). As someone who picked up the Listener about 6 months ago I found this very satisfying. It helped that I have the week of work (much of which feels like it’s been devoted to this).

Help, I've done all but 3 in the grid, got the film and found the quotation but I'm stuck with 1ac, 12 down (ends in o) and 21 ac where I have 4 out of 6 letters and can't find anything that fits
