Was busy yesterday so have only just finished what I thought was a fun crossword.
Liked 4a and 10a but my COD is 25a.
I've spent many a Burn's night with Scottish friends. They call what I call the 'Norse' vegetables, turnips (neeps).

I have got the answer to 10 across but don't understand why it says "not half" when it is half? COD - 4 across for me.

It's actually both Peter!
However, not half is an expression which, I suppose, adds to the surface reading.

hi all..

late to the party as always (busy on weekends)

enjoyed this week's everyman, and managed to complete (thanks as ever to Brendan et al)

Though I have the answer, I can't see (aptly) the blind part of 9a..

Neither can I parse 14d

9 "blind" doesn't refer to vision.

Hi DinDave,

Welcome to the Forum:-)

22a - Is a homophone/"picked up" (as in 'heard') of a word for "forks" and of "I'd" (from the clue) - definition is "Northeast" (Newcastle)

8d - See posts @9 and @10 of this thread.
