Fop, 20d remove first letter and “re-sort”

Im all done except 20D - I have ?L?V?D and can't think of anything to fit.... Have I gone wrong somewhere?

Actually found this slightly easier to solve maybe harder to parse favourites 15a 25a and 16d loi 20d new word 1d unusual American I think? Thanks to all

I found it hard to get started so FOI was 19d. Then worked my way through a lot of good clues till LOI 16d (Minty will be pleased). Grateful for the Foum's help in parsing a number of clues. A plus of being a late starter is that the answers are spread out before you. The minus is that you don't get to join in the debate. But always enjoy reading the to and fro, thanks everyone and thanks Everyman!

I went for a very muddy walk today, so finished this late. As you say quite intricate this week.

My LOI was 17d , so I think I'm a blusher as the answer was staring me in the face! :)
