15a - If it said "earl" then it would be E but it says "early"?

Thanks again Quisling. At the risk of outwearing my welcome....

2a - at first I thought it was Rama as an anagram of Drama minus the R, when that didn't work I wondered if it was Adam but now it looks like it's hidden, perhaps Amun or Aman (who knew there were so many Gods)? But the problem is the extra letter looks like it has to be an E which rules out both of those theories?

Extra letter is an A. Last letter of drama. Which makes AMUN hidden in the clue

Ah! I stupidly thought "flog" was "tan" but I see it isn't.

Many thanks for all your help Quisling, much appreciated.

Finally have everything sorted bar the very last extra letter for 38d - I thought it would be L for 50 but it looks like it's C from Cor?

I’m not sure why you switched. If you google the film title and the item thematically consumed, you will find the second quote to confirm it’s the smaller number (cryptically represented here in Latin)

Ahhh, I haven’t woken up. It’s L from Lor, also an expression of surprise
