Its a nice peaceful Saturday afternoon and I've better things to do than umpire slanging matches between children in the playground.

Chrishardie, you started the argument in your reply to Tatters by accusing other users of being fare dodgers and from then onwards it denigrated quickly. I would be obliged if you would refrain from posting unfounded allegations of this nature, if there is a repeat, then I will ban you.

Can you all please cease this argument forthwith, the Forum is not the place to discuss who pays £x amount for anything crossword related and it is no business of anyone other than the individual users concerned.

I totally agree with you planks - the Listener on a Saturday is probably the greatest contributor to the retention of my sanity that exists in these strange times.

Online as part of the Crossword Club on Friday at 4pm so that doesn’t work as an excuse so the only real reason to provide it in this forum is allowing access without paying. If you think that’s a playground point so be it. No need to ban me I will permanently leave the forum. Best wishes to all.

I always look forward to spending a few hours (sometimes days) with The Listener crossword – I'm still wrestling with this one.

I didn't realise it was available on The Times website from 4pm on a Friday. I don't know why they make it so difficult to find, though, having to go via the Crossword Club (unlike other specialist puzzles like Mephisto and O Tempora).

When I try to access the Times Crossword Club it just says rather rudely “Forbidden”. This happens on my iPad and on the house computer. It doesn’t offer the chance to enter the user name and password, as heretofore. The people on the helpline have been very anxious to help but it still isn’t working.

Rad, that's happened to me occasionally. Sometimes a refresh or two sorts it, but often I find I need to log in via the main Times site. That then allows access to the Crossword Club. It's usually after I've had a cookie clear-out that this happens.

Rad. They have a very strong paywall at the Times. You need to back track on the iPad to the main Times page and login again. Then you are allowed to access the club.
