Brilliant construction, does the title have any hidden significance?

It could be a thematic down entry, perhaps?

This was an absolute masterpiece - pure and simple:-)

Hi, I'm not looking for answers or nudges yet. I just need reassurance that I've not gone wrong. I've filled the grid from the 4th row down and have most of the first 2 rows. But I'm having trouble with the wordplay of some of the remaining Downs at the top (in some cases I'm pretty sure of the correct answer per the definition but can't work out the wrong letters from the wordplay).

So, 7d I have the 2nd, 5th and 6th letters from the crossers but the last 2 letters don't suggest any word that I've ever heard of or that is in Chambers. I'm certain the crossers are correct but don't think that either of the last 2 letters is a wrong letter.

13d I have all the letters bar the first 2 but can't find any word that might fit. Nor can I see where a hyphen might fit so again, have I gone wrong?

In both these entries, I want their wrong letters to be elsewhere within the solutions. Or am I making a wrong assumption about the wrong letters? Up to now there's been a definite 'pattern' to them.

So just reassurance (or otherwise) please, no spoilers or hints. Thanks.

All done now. Thanks for the confirmation. I'd gone for the wrong spelling of 17a which caused my problems with the 2 Downs. Staggering construction!
