Hi. I enjoy your comments and hints.
I think I know what 15A is but don’t get the poker allusion.
Also, for both 22D & 16D, I have answers but can’t work out why.
Enjoyed 25 & 26A

15a: the poker term for stake sounds like the four letter synonym for against or opposed.
22d: see the earlier comment by Brendan at 4.
16d: four letter synonym for angry around one letter cricket abbrevations for ’maiden over’ and ’bowled’, followed by two letter cricket abbreviation for ’run out’. The definition is a type of cap or hat.

Still a bit confused re: 22D with the suggestion being that the answer is TIRED. I'm thinking I must have really messed up but can't see where. As it stands, my answers to 25A and 27A give me 22D as T*I*E. Where am I going wrong?

Hi,
Got to this weeks rather late I'm afraid but I would appreciate help with 8d, seems to be a character I missed from my childhood.
I have all the across letters in if they are right and have the first word of the answer but the rest eludes me, any help welcome
