Hi dinkyfour.
Have been through all the 1966 musicals (Broadway included) and can't find an 8 letter one let alone one that removing first 3 letters gives a boat. Bit more help please!

It's 7 letters and it's not a boat.

Jennifer, if the extra clues haven't helped you, it might be a good idea to set the puzzle aside for a day or two (or even a week or two, the closing date is the end of November). A break then a fresh look can be more effective than staring and staring, waiting for inspiration. Hope it works!

Ignoring Malone. Does the musical start with C and take out first 2 letters. Leaves 5 so are they used straight or anagrammed.

Have you googled the 5 letters you have left?

Hi Lady Bee. Yes and I found a French woman who was the first woman to circumnavigate the world 1766-69.

Also found another1966 musical 7 letters beginning with C but couldn't find anything for the 5 letters.

Both musicals Begin with C and end with T
