Hi femmenoire, yes 15d is a craft. The ship reference is part of the (rather elaborate) word play. See my earlier post.
20/26 the definition is intellectual, with the two words separately defined by moving and reference.
20d definition is greeting, and the parsing (which is not so obvious) was discussed below.

Hi FemmeNoire

I just have four left but will leave them to later to puzzle over. I made tremendous progress once I got 1ac, 10ac and 18ac following hints from Luster (sorry forgotten name).

I have 16ac,17d,23ac and 23d still to do.

20d is explained earlier in the thread, but is difficult to see straight away. The definition is an unusual form of greeting. I always think it should be followed by Doc, but I don't know why. The first word is a synonym for eh, which is he turned up.

20ac refers to the moving part of 20,26ac

It took me ages to explain 15d. For some reason I thought it was a sailor!

Hi Roof,

Wasn't it Bugs Bunny who used to say that W.... .p doc?

For years I've had a theory that Paul's puzzles are slow starters but easier once you get going. But this is the exception. Bit of a struggle with many answers unable to parse. Can't get 16a, 24a or parse 10a. But it will not beat me.

Hi Rocky,

I'm glad you're persevering, it's worth the effort.

10a 4 letter synonym of "victim + "leader of" E(mpire) reversed/"falling back" followed by an anagram/"to form" of a 4 letter word in the clue.
