I just have four left but will leave them to later to puzzle over. I made tremendous progress once I got 1ac, 10ac and 18ac following hints from Luster (sorry forgotten name).
I have 16ac,17d,23ac and 23d still to do.
20d is explained earlier in the thread, but is difficult to see straight away. The definition is an unusual form of greeting. I always think it should be followed by Doc, but I don't know why. The first word is a synonym for eh, which is he turned up.
20ac refers to the moving part of 20,26ac
It took me ages to explain 15d. For some reason I thought it was a sailor!
