Hi Rossim, I eventually worked it out at the time but had crossing letters to help...way back in 2010! It's amazing what we remember. The H to O (water) clue was, I think, an Araucaria from the 70s.

Hi to all,
I remember the very first Clue Chain in 2011 set ip by 'rambler'
It was fun and I participated a few times.
Sadly quite a lot of the old regulars have died and a couple were banned ' -:)
I am very busy with commitments now and cannot stay online to participate. Keep safe and well :)

Good to hear from you Jazzy. Hope you are well and coping.
It's good to be busy.
I won't take the DM on just a Saturday anymore so no longer do the codeword.

Hi Peter
IMHO the H to O one is a dingbat, not a crossword clue.

Hi rossim
I am very well and I like to be busy. Genealogy takes up a lot of my time, and I help others with theirs. I still buy the Sat. DM and do the cryptics and codewords when I find time. I hope you and yours are well.

I am also doing lots of genealogy these days jazzy, mostly for other people, though my brother was recently left (by a very ancient aunt) a silver snuff box of 1839 with names and engraving he didn't understand -"In recognition of his honourable conduct over the last 20 years" . Fascinating to work that one out. To me, anyway!

Tyke, yes it was me, I do keep notes on devices etc in a telephone index book. If the query mark was for my gender (is that word allowed??) , I am indeed female.

emrach and bobsmum are fine, or were last time I communicated with them.

Jazzgirl, have you ever been asked to try and find someone's father (name unknown) and, if so, did you succeed?
