How is 25a parsed?

The pint is ale, the queen isn;t the usual abbreviation - rather informal!

I liked this Everyman; it nearly all went in more quickly than usual. 8d was my favourite, and 6d brought back memories from early childhood nearby.

Still not quite sure about 25; I have an initial for queen inside short pint, followed by two-letter European country code, but parsing of the last 'e' escapes me.

Also agree with Brendan about 27; something not quite right. The best I've come up with is a single drug letter, followed by plural spirits shots. Not a word, but maybe in two parts?

Those two will give me further puzzling later, but an enjoyable solve so far.

27 the last letter is the "entrance" to sweet.

So I am not the only one struggling with SE corner. Have not cracked 16d and 27a. For 25a I have a central America country with British connections.

I had that last letter in 27 from the down answer; just didn't see it in the right way for some reason.
