2 more parses please, before I put this one to bed....

"Outdated offers ..." and "Rise above.." - I have the answers and definitions to both, but can't see any of the parsing.

Also, in "Gloomier god..." although the answer is clear (dis + anag. of 'realm'), I can't actually find the word in any dictionary.

Brendan, I've just had a quick check - the 'Gloomier' answer seems covered by the Spelling Rules mentioned in Chambers.

Outdated offers - a 4 word letter for stay (as in **** up) followed by the most common letter for one and without in the musical sense reversed.
Rise above - trips to country local are o**s, followed by a word for row in the sporting sense.

Thanks Malone, I didn't realise my phone app had a whole glossary of features under the "help" heading, and yes, "er" is in there under 'comparative and superlative adjectives'.

Quite a tame ending for such a brutal puzzle I thought.

Just finished (what a struggle!) and have the question from the down clues. After a fair bit of grid staring I can't see what to highlight. Any hints gratefully received!
