Not able to guess 14a. Is it a slang or some abbreviation? Other clues are all fine, including the name of the footballer in 15a.

I have the same question Mathi. For those who don’t have the clue in front of them it is “Perhaps, Sergeant Major, perhaps” _o_n. Hints only please

Only thing I could guess was the first name of a British PM Major. I am not sure if there is another popular name with a last name Sergeant!

Looks like there is a Sergeant too, a journalist and broadcaster.

Could be, given that today’s theme is somewhat like a names galore! But as pointed out by Matador, it is a pretty vague clue, especially with very common first name.

14a also baffled me until I looked here. Apart from that clue I thought today’s was ok. 10ac was my favourite clue.
