Banana, I’’m on the point of giving up on this, but curiously I had got some that others are struggling with. For 11 we need a 3-letter word for block, reversed, and a three-letter word for ditch, a variant of the usual two-letter word. Lateral thinking needed for ‘staves’!

...it's not rean or reen but a 3 letter word starting with a vowel (most commonly French).
