Thank you. Couldn’t have got that, though it seems simple when you see it.

Yes, I enjoyed this too, it was slow going until the theme emerged. I learned a couple of new non-dictionary words too. Like Crucifer, not a fan of the verse's author.

Muraria and Crucifer, I've yet to meet ANYONE who likes the author!

Neither have I, Malone. So why is his terminally unfunny doggerel so beloved by crossword setters?

Er. . . . , I love his work.

Nelson, each to their own! I've never seen the attraction myself, but that goes for all sorts of things, both in reading material and elsewhere.

Crucifer, I think it's the sheer volume of available material that's partly responsible!

Yes malone, as you say. Like last week - when I realised the theme, about half way through, I just lost interest. Find that humour totally banal. And the song . . . . agh noooo! But, of course, chacun a son gout.

3 D. Your M should be an N.

11. Receiver of property is the definition. A, in clue+ three-letter 'position' +three letters of a four letter word (reduction in..) for 'poverty'.

17 Caught me out, but it's in the dictionary - using Capitals! 'Rescue missions' is the definition. The 'grottoes' are the usual 5-letter word...
