Could it begin with G? Then it would be "Go in" (become concealed) around Lon(don)

Any hint on 3d and 20d appreciated.

3. They cut manipulation of news – Trump’s sulk will be held up (8)

20. Be a shy chap once initially in girl’s embrace – it’s giving you

Thanks.

My hints may be rubbish, Sunray, but I'll try...

There's an extra word in 20. The answer has a usual 'girl', and that contains various things from the 'initially' part. The definition is something that'll give you the vapours.

3. The definition is 'they cut'. There's a usual four-letter word for 'manipulation of news' inside a four-letter word (reversed/held up) for 'Trump's sulk', a mainly American term.

Almost right Malone, but the two words are both reversed; one isn't inside the other

Glad I could help, Sunray - I thought you'd see part of 3 D quicker than I did!

I really enjoyed this puzzle. It was clever and very satisfying.

I enjoyed the puzzle too, but must admit that I cannot abide the author of the verse. And he seems to turn up at least twice a year in thematic crosswords!
