First three letters is the "villain" (the computer) in the Space Odyssey series reversed, the second three the raw form of minerals when mined, the whole a city.

In this instance the “casing” are the outer letters of the first cheese.

Then it’s another word for “crackers” but not the crackers you eat with cheese. An adjective instead.

Put them together and you get another cheese.

It’s a (ahem) cracking clue.

Have got them all now!
