Easiest for quite some time.

So much so that I initially missed a couple of starting-me-in-the-face answers.

e.g 27A

It was all going so well, now I’ve ground to a halt, stuck on the righthand side - and pants with pockets is bugging me, can’t see it at all yet!

Oh, what? Think I have just worked it out...

Agree it was quite straightforward, at least comparatively.

That said, 5a took me an absolute age to try and figure out where to remove the "I" from.

I was out of the traps like a startled whippet, then got slowed down considerably by the bottom half. Nothing especially difficult, I just got the wrong end of the stick on several of them for a while.

Enjoyable though.

I had a problem with 5A too, even when the (only possible) answer was in place. The clue doesn't quite parse correctly, imo. Something similar could be said for 19D -- why minerals rather than mineral?

Can't parse 25ac for some reason .Otherwise finished it fairly quickly

A male animal with hirns without the first letter, inside a 4 letter word meaning 'come- hither look'

That's a bit embarrassing. Solved it just before you helped me. Just a bit straightforward! Thanks anyway.
