Both 5a and 19d parse perfectly correctly.
I won't comment on 5a, as that would give away the answer...
but re 19d: an ore is any naturally occurring mineral or aggregate of minerals.

It just strikes me that the 'not I' should refer to the weapon, rather than anything else, given the structure of the clue.

It is a fantastically intricate clue. I reckon the fact that most of us have managed to parse it suggests that we're starting to get to grips with some of the setter's quirks (after nearly a year!). All your letters are correct. If you still haven't got it, try inserting an apostrophe.
