Re 19D: my main issue is that there must be a thousand film villains, and a thousand Asian cities, so to add another level of ambiguity with the pluralisation just seems a little unfair. That said, I did get it after a couple of minutes of head scratching (and trying to find space for an 's'), so maybe not.

Pockets... the verb not the noun!

Took a while to work out a number of them. Seemed to be options for some that stumped me.

I have 5a and 8d from their definitions (I think) but for the life of me cannot parse either. Have I got them wrong; is the first letter of 8d H ?
If it is can anyone give me clues to the parsing?

5a - With, not I, containing weapon.

8d - "Cultivate" aesthetic, abandoning "c" (about).

Got 5a in one of those DOH! moments.
It is just 8d parsing that has me stumped now.
