Good morning. Completed except for the "Designation". I have the "Word" and have dealt with the disappearance. The last part of the down clue extra letters would seem to point to something needed to enter the USA, but apart from a former Soviet state, I'm foxed by the rest. Can anyone help please ?

Got it now. A couple of obscure references. A word of warning. Don't go down the ESTA route and stick to the vitamin.

Well Tony! How speedy are you! I’ve just picked this up and am floundering a bit. I’d like help with a couple of down clues, which have two consecutive redundant letters please.
2d: press alarm in a casual way (4) I have ?RO?
8d: spicy sauces of weeds for tea (9) I have PI???I???

2 A word meaning 'press', and it's also a slang (in a casual way) word for 'arm'.

2d "Al" are redundant letters. Ends up as a double definition from memory.
8d I'm sure you know the sauce, but the component parts were unknown to me. Chambers will confirm the weed and the tea. Good luck.

I should have added that the redundant letters for 8d are "of". Sorry.

Dead pig in lots of bits beheaded by men under pressure . I have pork...where does the K come from? (if pork is correct for dead meat)
