This is tough, two hours and only solved about eight. Every answer to be altered makes it harder.
Anything to help me progress....!
1a/1d would be nice, or tips for any of the 8/9 letter solutions.
1 A. Doctor in search of dray horse? (7) Drafter, like a draught horse. Just Dr + After. The first 'r' goes, so that should help with 1 D (where the definition is 'pressure').
Hi Lumen,
1a is usuak two-letter abb. for Doctor plus 5-letter vernacular for 'in search of', def is dray horse.
1d is 6-letter synonym for 'pressure'
10a is homophone for word meaning 'heard' plus - ier, ie first letters of last three words
Thanks all.
I’ll have a think about 1d. The clue for which, sorry Scorpio, is Take in subscriptions maintaining society pressure. (6)
10a was one of the few I had already!
Stuck in the bottom left!
39a) Having no qualms about Master’s examination(6)
42a) Marking ownership for laird, Crosby enter Hebridean location? Quite the opposite (8). I suppose Bing goes in there somewhere. Thanks
