Yes, thanks both, but my problem is I have too many extra words so have obviously gone wrong somewhere. I get the gist of the hints given by these extra words but it is muddled!

Hi again fgsltw, as well as these clues providing the words giving the hints, "the entries collinearly".

I think that I have completed this, but can someone confirm that 2 of the items to be highlighted do not consist of overlapping answers.
I have one which is almost the whole of one across answer and another which is just a 6 letter down answer.

All done now - fgsltw, I have only 2 across and 4 down for the other features to be highlighted.

Any chance anyone has a blank grid and clues scanned that they could send to a bored holiday maker? Much appreciated if so.

Me too. Over complicating things. I didn’t think one would be a whole answer. But...I’ve only used 38 cells. Think I’ve gone wrong on the longer across feature. Can some one put me out of my misery please?

Hope that this is not too much, fgsitw, but I have highlighted items starting at 8d, 14 ac and d, 26d, 34 AC and the cell above 31d. This gives 40 cells.
