With respect to 22a, I'm not sure that I have the capacitance to understand the answer, given the clue. I too was trying to shoehorn "coulomb" in there.

Thanks for that 2d, John (from Arran). It's easy when you know how!

John(from Arran), I've not heard a member of Leptodactylidae make this noise, they usually 'croak'

Hello everyone
I really struggled like Caravaggio this week, and I put it down to the Cheshire air I absorbed last week, but well done Torvic
I thought some of the clues were best summed up by the clue to 4d "dodgy" In my view, for what its worth, I think the compiler has gone on holiday and dusted one off that he had made earlier.
As far as my visit to Cheshire last week is concerned thanks to all those who gve me hints on what to see. I suffered however from a lack of currency and I even tried the Jodrell Bank, and they had none!! Didnt make it to Chester - perhaps next time.

A joule is a unit of energy, a coulomb is a unit of charge and a farad is a unit of capacitance.

Just returned home today. This one is a bit of a struggle so far!! I can't quite get on the same wavelength as the compiler. 8a seems a familiar clue - possibly from a recent DT puzzle?
Glad to hear that Philip made it back from Cheshire, in one piece!!

Finished. An interesting challenge this week.
6d was a poor clue as was 22a. It took me forever to catch on to the Finnish composer, despite having read the thread earlier.
Some nice anagrams this week. I personally liked 9d, 13d and 21a.
