Just one example. Where is the definition in the "lie-in" clue? There is no equivalence between lying in and solving crosswords.

def, "time spent with crossword perhaps" (jokey)
I already had 3 letters from the crossers, and the wordplay was fair.

I agree with Cerasus in his post at 40.
I didn't consult any dictionaries, until I looked for confirmation to show you...re my comment about Bradford's.
I enjoyed the puzzle!

Evidently I am in a minority in preferring to solve crosswords from the clue without having to guess from crossers and retrofit the def. Thanks for the comments.

With all due respect, Quocunque, I DID get my answer from the clue,.....
parsing it as I went.....
schmooze = circulation (def)
Schm (altz) - mush
ooze - percolate
What could be simpler?

16a ain't lie-IN imo. Change a letter and you have the definition of "concerning".
