Has anyone tackled this today? The theme evades me. It is something I’m not familiar with unless it is right under my nose which would be the first time.

Hi Sally Mac. Clue"B" starts in the top right, "O" lower left. Beware the two nine letter "Y" answers! Messed me up good and proper and I had to start again.

Mrs H, one F, the longer one, is a food item (Italian), the other is the name of a director and also a word meaning path, road etc.

Hi Mrsh. The nine letter word is a pasta similar to tagliatelle and is undefined. The five is the name of a film director and a Roman road from Exeter to Lincoln. That should narrow it down a bit!
