I was quick today. 1st 2d last one in was 25a. I forgot the murder victim

2d etc was my first one in and I thought "hang on a minute, that's wrong" but, obviously, as things progressed........

Finished apart from 6D and 26A. Completely baffled on the murder victim so a strong hint would be very welcome.

It's a mishearing of a Scottish folk song. 13d is now the name given to this sort of mistake.

Well, you live and learn! When I was a boy, I wondered what the Wild West was doing in the song God Bless the Prince of Wales, ie the prairie echoing ( the prayer re-echo).

Well I'm completely up the spout on 2d etc. The song title I've got doesn't fit into 16d but I'm not a fan so have probably missed something obvious.
A broad steer would be very welcome.
