One Passes this Swiss city, bypassing the outskirts, with trip's agent.
Hope I can make some progress now !

17. A 6-letter Swiss city drops its first and last letters, the 'trip's agent' refers to taking illegal drugs. The answer is defined by 'one passes this'.

Samovar, I'm unsure how to help you fill in the grid. There are lots of big hints about the finished shape. The preamble says that many entries will have at least one blank cell - so if you've got some treated entries, that should help with others. Having the top and bottom and the right and left down really helps with entering other answers - ie the entry for row 3.
