Thanks, Malone. I was overthinking this one; never thought of wine!

Happy Boxing Day, all. Mine will be happier if I can wrap this up, so hope you can help.
1. Is 17 down rh grid, the poet or the opportunist? I put in the poet but can't get 22 across with it (well I can't get it without it either, so some help with 22 across would be welcome).
2. Hints for 19 across left would be gratefully received. I know it hasn't got an extra letter as I've put that in the right grid (which leaves me with 2 down ending in i which is a problem too as the only phrase I can think of is the early stages of a divorce which doesn't seem to have anything to do with windpipes, or regular intervals.
Perhaps a nice brisk walk in the sunshine will help the little grey cells.

In reply to RPChambe, I have managed to do all of this hideously difficult puzzle apart from 1 Down Part 2, where
I just cannot make up the extended word, Can you help me with a clue for this? Would be pleased to help you with all your niggles in return. Also, being this time of the year, I'm
in and out like a yoyo, so replies either way may be awhile
coming!

17d the poet
22ac unusual word for grace plus extra letter. Think oily.
19ac left is a double definition and means knowing what someone is thinking
2d you are on the right lines with 2d right. It is an anagram of screen and the regular letters in windpipe.

I'm still stuck on 7ac left and 10ac left and 2d left.
Can anyone help with parsing 5d right and 24d right
Ive now got 2 answers with s as the extra letter -14d right and 7ac left. I think the latter is the correct one. Does 14d have an extra letter?
Please help someone so I can put this to bed and get my ironing done!

The definition is agile. The extra letter needs to be added in front

In 7 ac left the added letter is V, not S.
The S has to be added to 14d right.

Sorry, that's correct S is in 26a left, but the V stays in 7ac.
