Thank you. Have got the first four now and suspect that it is my 25 across left that is wrong. I had the composer plus e for a word meaning adds up but I now think the extra letter should be H on the end.

Definition is cocky ( arrogant). It starts with husband (h) followed by author in French, which is a word associate with films

For the right hand grid the definition for the solution to which a letter has to be added is warning

I was puzzled by use of a worldofor empties I didn't know. Adding the extra letter also means empties. How confusing. At least I've finished my ironing as well.

I thought the extra l went in 13 ac left. For 24 Ac right I have another word for toilets (specific gender) which I made up with the usual short form of left, something which can be 'one' and a word which could mean 'out'. That gives me ?n?e?t for 18 down, which I assume begins with 'in' for popular. It could be 'sets' for groups with another letter in but I can't find any connection with maps of any variety.
I'm having trouble with 1 d right. ?h?e??? The plural of a sort of dire warning would fit, but I've already used the S and I can't think of any word that has my warning plus another letter.
