Apologies for any error, but never posted before. L is completely baffling me. Appreciate comment from Chrise re lavatorial etc, but no idea whether "Reading Stevenson" might be RLS; whether Eliot might be TS, or be part of an anagram etc.. I assume that third word ends in M? And although my life has not been sheltered, no 3 word phrase re natural functions comes to mind, so any further hints much appreciated.

Easier to give a clue to the definition - Where females who are small go to spend a penny.

Spent two hours doing this crossword with a friend, we got four answers we could write in, and another four we solved but did not know where they went.
Absolutely loathed it.
Still do not know what the "L" answer is, despite the threads here.
Don't think I'm going to bother with another crossword by this setter.

Could someone explain the Q one? I assume it's QUACK, but I can't see why.

Thanks.

It's a bit odd. If the clue said "crevice or cranny" the answer would be CRACK, so "quevice or quanny" gives QUACK.
