He can be a but - how should I say? - "lavatorial"!

Hi ChrisE - have now got 'X'! Had wrong answers for 'W' & 'H' which were throwing me. Don't usually like these puzzles but quite enjoyed this one.

This was easier than usual because of the greater variety of word lengths, including the two unique ones.

Almost done except for Y. I have got yi_e_a_
Also I can't parse E, K and O.
Any hints gratefully received

I think you've gone a bit astray. Second letter in Y isn't I; it's the O crossing (which we discussed earlier in this thread).

E is plural fish around last letters; def. "red".

K is a "sounds like"

Hi, am struggling with L - any more subtle hints appreciated please, trying to move on with this! Sunshine/beer winning though :)

I gave a rather unsubtle hint earlier, foxy, if you read it right! I can't do any more, as I've only partly parsed this one.

The E was obvious, my brain must have overheated. I still don't like the parsing of K and O though

K is coup/do; still can't see O at all, never mind paling it.
