13 a was actually my first on in, but I did know an old term for things made from shark skin

Hi Griffin. 4d - A word sort of meaning highbrow beginning with ELI. 5d - 'Barman' here means a man at the bar in a court of law. 13a - A type of rawhide made from skins of sharks. 22ac - Something you would light at an intimate dinner to give a glow. Hope this helps.
