I had tried that anagram, but couldn't find a solution, but with your hint I've now got it and the long clue and several others. I just have to work on 2d now and the other side. Like others on the forum I can't see why several of the answers are right.
Not very enjoyable but I persevered because I don't like to be beaten.
The only good thing I can say is that I've learnt some new words including 4d.
Can someone please parse it for me?
Hi Rossim
It's not often I get the chance to help, but I've just got this one and parsed it like this.
Four letter old fashioned word for chap round abbr italian (2letters) special(1letter) upside down.
Like you I've learnt lots of new words.
Thanks Scorpiojo and Roof. I don't feel I've completed a crossword unless I understand the parsing.
That was another slang word I didn't know. I was thinking in terms of chapped hands and couldn't find anything on google. Silly me, I should have worked the other way round having found the definition.
