A hint is quite difficult without giving it away. Make-It and then the last word as the def.

I've just guessed the long one (I won't bother to try to parse it). That's unforgiveable, missing out the S. I think I'll throw it away now!

Thanks jafo. I've bunged in a word ending in IT that I suppose vaguely approximates to iniquity, but I still don't get it.

chrise: quite. I kind of wish I hadn't bothered (almost) seeing it through after seeing that howler. Very poor for a prize.

Mmm. My 16a doesn't end IT, but I'm not convinced it works - it would have to be a rather loose &lit, I think

Rossimo, I think my hint was not up to much.

If you have -E-E-I- as your crossers and put that into any online solver the word that at least I have would be the first alphabetically to come up. The parsing is a bit loose but does work I suppose.

Aha, thanks! It IS an &lit as chrise suggested, then. A pretty poor one in my view. A fizzle-out end to a damp squib of a puzzle.

What do you and Chrise mean by &lit?
I am really struggling with this one. I have no idea what the long one is. I have 1d and 7d and would like some help with 2d and 6d.

For 6d Get organised, or be spontaneous on one (5, 4, 6). I have ?B?????E?????O?
Not a lot I know. I may have to give up on this one. I might give up soon, but I hate to be defeated.
