Homophone, not homonym.

I'm struggling to get started on entering solutions. Could someone give me a hint, please.

For instance, with all but two of the 6 letter ones solved, I have three possibilities for the two that start with the same letter - D, G and V. Which two should I use? (Or should the unsolved A and W be involved?)

Thanks jazz girl and hallway. I think Holloway has it right; G and one of the Qs. I did it the wrong way of course.

I wish I could help. I have all the solutions written down and have slotted in P,G and K so far but this may turn out to be completely wrong later. I am off to get some fresh air :(

The instructions say that it's two clues, not two solutions, that indicate the correct fit. With that in mind, the first Q suggested to me that it should go across. I can't see another clue indicating direction though, so I may be wrong.

I'll give that a try, rogissimo. First, though, I need to find a pencil instead of a pen!

I don't even have a paper grid, chrise, so have been trying to do it in me 'ead! I too need some fresh air.

It's gone surprisingly well. All the ones I've solved are now it, leaving two of the ten letter ones and one of the sixes as yet unsolved.

Right, all done! Not as difficult as it seemed at first sight. I'm not at all clear if I've done it the right way round, though.
