Hi everyone

I really love these alphabetical crosswords and have finished a short time ago in between sewing, cooking and watching telly.
But I found it harder to place the answers in the grid than I usually do and have definitely had some trouble with parsing.
So when I came to look at the forum, I was disappointed to see some answers given. We usually just give hints. I too thought the four letter words starting with the same letter would be H or Z. A nice bit of misleading there by Puck.

Well I needed all the help offered, especially on B
I DID place V on my own, which is the crack. I only parsed G now nice one.

H and X - ???
Think I have got there, but I don't get H or X. 1800s must mean 30x60s, but that leaves me with no way to account for HALF when assembling the answer from the other bit of the clue. As to X, there seems to be too much clue for the answer. Where does the anagram indicator begin and end?

Overall, though, an enjoyable puzzle.

Re 'X'

One way to get the answer is an anagram...

The other way is to

Put (?) in (???)

hmmn..

Sorry, Mamya - full marks for not spoiling, but I find you more puzzling than Puck. Gimme some more help. The clue seems to be fine without the first line (up to "ie"). Is it one of those weird ones where as well as the definition there are TWO sets of assembly instructions?

Well at the risk of wrath....

One way to get taxi ( place X in tai) - which is the answer

Taxi in bustling (anagram) in the other way.

Xintai - City

Now why couldn't I see that? A very original clue, that's why. Thanks Mamya.
