28a is a word meaning to brag or boast (think of a bird) around the letter D.

I am struggling with 36a part two any help please?

Yes, as above, and the answer isn't fishy.

36 yes as above. Answer is an archaism, in a Spenserian spelling.

Thanks Jalo, Scorpiojo, Polly1 and Rogissimo. I had a completely wrong word, which Roy Keane would have disapproved of.

Sure have struggled with this one - not alone it seems. Several answers I've never heard of but am now happy with.
However I would appreciate help with:

54ac Leaves unfold on 60% of roses, fenced off (9)

I have F?O?D?S?E - thanks in advance.

Ah - got it! Needed a word-search, thought the 60% referred to more than it did.

Wow, I am in the rare position (for me) of actually being able to give help rather than ask for it. The whole is a verb meaning to unfold leaves and is an anagram of 'fenced' and the first 60% of 'roses'. And while I'm here, my anagram solver (Wordsolver.net) can't find an anagram for cylinders with 'lid' missing. Anyone got a better anagram solver I can use?

I don't know of any anagram solvers that would find this, it is pretty obscure. I found this one by guessing what it could be then searching that with Edmund Spenser. You will find the answer in his most famous poem.
