My turn to sound a bit contrary Rusty but I thought there was a problem in UK at present with young people and alcohol - especially girls? There was a documentary showing just this on French TV and they even interviewed two or three of these girls just as they were getting ready , one of whom bluntly admitted that meant to get drunk that very evening

I must admit though that I know several British youngsters who are perfectly fine and by the same token, I also know several French youngsters who are already a hopeless case!

Were you naughty in the sixties? I was so busy studying during the week and dancing every week-end that I had no time to be 'naughty' !

I don't think I'm right, though - I thought he was part of the group with Sickert etc., in the Camden Town set.

Oh!
Is this the Sickert who was linked to Jack the Ripper?

Yes, by Patricia Cornwell primarily, I think.

It's an interesting aspect of human nature that everyone seems to want Jack the Ripper to have been someone famous.

I don't think there is any more of a problem than there ever was, Pigale. I did not see the programme.
Was I naughty?
I was the same as all my pals, I suppose.
Worked hard straight from school, played sport etc.
I did drink quite a bit then. We all did.
It seemed to be our culture, then.
And I smoked!
Stopped all that years ago!

I have to admit that, whilst living in Paris for a while during the 60's I became too fond of Gauloise cigarettes. When I returned to England, I continued buying them here and my Father nearly had a fit.

Chris, did you see the quote from Henrik Stenson about Chambers Bay?
"The greens are borderline laughable. It's like putting on broccoli."
