You folk seem to know all about English and grammar etc.
There is something been puzzling me for a while.
Why do so many people end a sentence with the word "then", when, to me, it seems superfluous?

Elle, I don't know what voice typing is.
I noticed it when I went in to "keyboard and input" settings.
I thought you would know?

I think 'voice typing' is like dictation - you speak into the microphone/your machine and it types what you say. If it's like the version I have, for messaging, on my phone, the finished result is not pretty!

Rusty, I'm fast coming to the conclusion that I don't know ANYTHING!
Firstly, I've done what you said and held down the o/'off switch for 15 secs - seems to have achieved something - certainly no ads for now anyway!
Secondly, can't find where it says 'voice typing'? but the Hudl seems to be on strike and isn't doing very much at all- I'm terrified to touch it now in case I make everything that I CAN access also disappear!

Elle, go into "settings", then " language and input", scroll down to "Google voice typing".
Do you have a wee Adblock logo iin the top left hand corner of your screen?
If so, swipe down and it will state whether ads are blocked or not. If they are not, a temporary fix is to switch off and on again.
I am trouble free since I switched to Firefox.

@rusty re "then" at the end of a sentence being superfluous.....
it's similar to :
"I am going out, so I am"
"my sister is in the bedroom, so she is"

You sound very Belfast, Jazzgirl, so you do!
Is the "then" thing fairly recent?
