Good morning, Elle!
Fine day here.
I've no plans today.
I'll take a longer walk to ASDA as it's a fine day.
Now, I found "orisons"!
It is in "Anthem For Doomed Youth" by Wilfred Owen.
I do not know where I got caparisons in my head from!
"Orisons" was very easy to find, but Google insisted that I meant comparison instead of caparison, so I was stuck.
I suppose I could have used another search engine like Bing or DuckDuckGo, but no matter.

Good morning, Rusty!
A fine sunny day here, but cooler than of late.
A pleasant walk.
Well done on finding "orisons"!
I did look at a few WW1 poems, but could not find the word.
Is there really a search engine called "DuckDuckGo"?!
Let us hope that we have "complete" crossword clues today.
I am just grabbing a quick cup of coffee before going to have my hair cut.
Catch up with you later.

Hello, Elle!
I managed to get Google to search caparison by bracketing the word with inverted commas, "caparison".
Still could not find the poem, though!
Yes, DuckDuckGo is a well known search engine.
There are quite a few search engines.
Each with their own characteristics.
Bing, Yahoo, Ask, are others that come to mind.
Google is by far the most popular, though.
But other search engines may be better for each individual user.
DuckDuckGo does not keep info about you like Google does, so it's better for privacy.
Why not try one or two?
The puzzle seems OK.
I have just finished it.
Don't see an apology from The Times for their blunder yesterday!

Rusty and elle
You probably remember this line from Hamlet:

Nymph, in thy orisons, be all my sins remembered

What was the blunder in the Times puzzle yesterday?

Hello, Chris,
The clue was originally,
"Mother and girl finding way round chief steward." (5,4)
That was online and in the paper.
The online edition was corrected during the day, to,
"Mother and girl finding way round doctor and chief steward." (5,4)
An error of omission!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I am home again now.......and here to stay for the rest of the afternoon!
I now have (slightly ) shorter, and (definitely) straighter, hair!
I got back in time to receive another parcel.
This time via the Hermes carrier.
The man who always delivers from Hermes is very nice, altho' a tad scared of my dog
But we are working on this, and he actually stroked her today!
I have used Yahoo, Bing and Ask.......but found them inferior to Google....
But DuckDuckGo is new to me... I had thought you might be having me on!
I shall try it out.
I've yet to start my crossword!

Hello, Chris!
Yes, indeed...."Soft you now, The fair Ophelia!........"
The words "doctor and " were missed out of yesterday's Times crossword clue.
The answer was "majordomo"
It all parsed nicely, except for "MO"..... which then became clear when we found the word doctor had been omitted!

Hello, Elle!
Happy haircut!
No, DuckDuckGo is a real search engine.
You may like it, or not.
Just saying, there is a choice other than Google.

Hi, Rusty!
What a lovely afternoon!
It has warmed up considerably too, and is great out.
I have done my crossword , except for one clue...
I was gobsmacked when I saw that 1a was "migraine"!
And the aura effect version , too.
This cut rather close to home!
I thought it one of the easier puzzles we have had for a while....
Perhaps because the answers seemed to be rather unusually obvious from the first reading of the clue...
And I found I was writing in answers, and then, in many instances, parsing afterwards.
I cannot, however solve 14a: Pitch drink containers in bins (5, 7)
?I?L? / G?A?S?S
Nauru is a new country to me?
I had to look it up!
I discovered it is in Micronesia, north east of Australia.
And "lat" as short for "latrine" (I am assuming) is certainly an alternative to "lav" as an abbreviation for lavatory!
I like the idea of Noah and the animals being "arked"!
I think my favourite was 20d: bronze.

Hello, Elle!
The puzzle was straightforward today.
I remember Nauru from reading James Michener.
The one you are stuck with is "field glasses"
"Bins" is a slang/dialect word for spectacles, though it is new to me.
