Hello Elle,

Rain (finally) and thunder last night here too! Vegetation looks
somewhat better for it - yet we are still on strict water restriction as the drought is very severe here! What rain we had last evening and night is but a drop in comparison to what we need!

Having lost all these degrees over less than 24 hours does not
agree with me though, but thankfully temps are rising up again -
28C now - Only 18C this morning, almost cold ..........!

I can imagine your walk this morning being much more pleasant
than of late.

I am not happy with the way this TdeF is ending!

Hello, Pigale!
I agree, it was tricky picking out Alaphilippe without the yellow jersey!
He did his very best today, but it was not to be.
Was it 18 days in yellow?
Absolutely remarkable!
He is a new hero for me.
Up there with Sagan!
I think you should be very proud of LouLou's achievements in this Tour, Pigale.
He was a revelation!

Hello, Elle!
I think it is outdoors, the concert is, might be in a tent?
I do not think it is in a conventional hall.
A win for Nibali in today's stage.
I like Nibali.
The description of moussaka does not appeal to me and I don't know aubergines.
Yes, some good clues today!
I watched Enable's race at Ascot.
She won in a tight finish.
A super horse!

I am Rusty, I am, but to me, there is nothing to prove that he would
not have fought back all the way yesterday, thereby reducing the gap thus retaining his yellow jersey! We shall never know.

It is a little like in Cricket, when a Test Match ends up in a draw because the game was interrupted by rain!

Having said that, I am very pleased for young Egan Bernal, at least
he had a good team to bring him support when needed, something
that Julian lacked (So his Directeur Sportif said some days ago)

Hello, Pigale!
Yesterday was an unfortunate thing to happen.
But, I think the decision to judge the summit of the Col d'Iseran as the end of the stage was the sensible thing to do.
LouLou was getting time back on the descent but then he would face another mountain to climb.
He was dropped again climbing the mountain today, and no matter what happened yesterday, I still think Bernal would win the Tour.
I agree with you, LouLou did not have a team for a grand tour, unfortunately.

hello Rusty,

Yes, I agree, and in fact Loulou himself said repeatedly on several
interviews that he was not sure at all of being able to bring the Yellow
Jersey all the way to Paris - Very realistic!

Lets look forward to the last day on the Champs tomorrow!

Hi, Rusty!
It is still raining here, but the temperature is down now to a very acceptable 18C.
Looking at our local forecast, our heatwave is fortunately over.
i wasn't trying to sell you the idea of eating moussaka, Rusty!
But you had wondered what it was.
I personally do not like moussaka as I do not like aubergines, aka eggplants as you may perhaps know them?
There appears to be some dissatisfaction in the outcome of the Tour so far?
I have been reading - but without much comprehension! - what you and Pigale have been discussing....
It seems, though, that there could have been no other choice of action under the circumstances?
Did you have a bet on Enable and Frankie Dettori?
We have curry for dinner!
And later in the evening I shall watch the Final of "The Voice Kids".

Good evening, Elle!
It is cooler here, too.
I know you were not recommending moussaka, Elle.
I am happy with the outcome of the Tour.
I would have preferred Alaphilippe to win, but as he said himself, a stronger man beat him.
There was a nice touch today in the peloton, when Alaphilippe rode up to Bernal and shook hands with him in congratulations.
France is lucky to have LouLou!
Now I'm hoping for Alaphilippe or Sagan to win on the Champs-Elysees!
No bet on Enable.
Just wanted to see the great mare run.
It was a great race and Frankie did everything right!

Good evening, Rusty!
It is still raining here,
And we have been stood up for tomorrow!
My daughter phoned to say she had double booked herself all unknowingly!!
Her friend rang her to make arrangements for their meeting tomorrow.....
Seemingly they had booked some weeks ago to take their children to a show up in London......
But my daughter had forgotten all about it.....and had arranged with us to go to the Summer Festival.
Not to worry.....we assured her that it didn't matter.
They had pre-booked the tickets for the show, so of course they must go.
We shall miss seeing the grandkids though, before they all go on holiday.
Ah well!

Hello, Elle!
Ach! That's a great pity with your daughter double-booking!
And we can't say she had a senior moment, can we!
(My granddaughters have "blonde" moments!)
Is it not possible for them to visit before they go a-holidaying?
Or, could you and your husband visit?
"Anything is possible if you wish hard enough"
Do you know who said that?
Peter Pan, or very similar words!
