Hello, Pigale!
I am sorry...I have only just seen your post.
It must have arrived whilst I was previously typing, and I consequently missed seeing it.
We have had several thunderstorms by now...and it is finally beginning to feel just a little cooler indoors... although I still need the fans on!
I meant to ask you, did you and Jeremy do the July Times Monthly puzzle?
I found it very difficult........
I hope you are enjoying the Tour!

Hi, Rusty!
It is odd, isn't it?
Did you look through the book by turning the pages on Amazon?
It would certainly appear that the poems listed, appear in the book?
I think, as it can be bought relatively cheaply, it might be worth the risk?
You do not need to read the analyses , just the poems.
What do you think?
I do know exactly what you mean ,though, as I find this trait of "explaining" a picture, hanging in an Art gallery, very annoying!
How can this so called expert really know what was in the painter's mind?
Particularly in an abstract painting?
I like to look.... absorb.... appreciate.... and form my own opinion!

Hello, Elle!
I have found the perfect one for me.
"Poetry for Kids" by Robert Frost.
Contains 35 of his best known poems including "The Road" and "Snowy Wood".
No annoying analysts to contend with either.
Google it and see what you think of it, please?
I agree with you about art experts, etc.
I am the same with historians explaining what actually happened 800 years ago.
They have an opinion, nothing else!
Right, back to le Tour!

What a blow Rusty! Poor Thibault having to abandon when it was
thought he could eventually overtake Loulou and win the 2019 Tour!

I have not actually heard the reason - I know he was being treated
by why?

Hello Elle, no we did not bother with the July Times Monthly - I think
it has been too hot and brain works slowly! also too much
socializing - although I rather enjoyed it!

Hello, Pigale,
They replaced the bandages on his left thigh.
He was really struggling and is in tears now that his tour is over.
Just awful for him to abandon and not far from Paris, too.
I was hoping for LouLou or Pinot to win.
Now, I hope for LouLou, and if he loses the jersey, I hope for young Bernal.
Drama is never far away on the Tour!

Rusty, I just read that that he was suffering of a torn muscle in his
left thigh - he suffered from it yesterday already but just said that
'it had been a bad day'" and was hoping today was going to be
better - in lieu of which .............

This is not the first time he is forced to abandon the Tour, is it?
Terrible sight to see such a champion in tears!

Hello, Pigale!
He would say he was having a "bad day" to try and keep info about his injury from his rivals.
They hoped it may improve overnight, but no.
He had a go, but unfortunately he had to abandon.
Distressing to see a great rider in tears.

Hi, Rusty!
It looks a lovely book..... and beautifully illustrated from the little I could see from "turning the pages" on Amazon.
And yes, it would appear to contain a lot of poems!
I am puzzled though as to why it should be considered a children's book?
There has been no indication so far that the poems were written for children?
I have read "The Road Not Taken" and to me it is definitely not a child's poem.
However, that aside......the book looks great..... and , I think, suitable for what you want.
The only possible setback is that I couldn't find it at under £10?
Is that an ok price?

Hello, Pigale!
I had to give up on the July puzzle.....
You have just handed me the excuse...it was the heat !
Maybe we shall do better with the August edition!

Hello, Elle!
I like the look of the book, too!
Glad you did too, as you are a good judge.
Think it would be fine for me.
Now, Robert Frost is new to me, but I think he did write poems for children, too?
"The Road Not Taken" is very good.
There's lots on YouTube about it.
The price is quite high, but I shall explore eBay etc.
I think I may have credit in my Amazon account, too.

Hello, Pigale!
What a day on the Tour.
Race stopped because of hail, snow, and ice, on the road!
Conditions impossible for the lads to race.
I think they are taking the times each rider crossed the summit of the Col d'Iseran (that's if they have the times)
Looks like Bernal is in yellow, but I don't know if there will be a presentation or not.
We are in uncharted waters!
