Hi rusty
I believe that G sent Bernal up the road to provoke a response, then his break was a (failed) attempt to join up with him.

I'm finding it more and more difficult to believe that this tour is clean, though.

Hi, Rusty!
I wish that it would cool down somewhat here......but am very glad that it has done so for you!
It will be a very warm night here, but should start to become a bit cooler from tomorrow, with a high of only 27C.
And it will rain again from about mid morning.
Yes, that sounds a very good idea to buy a book of Robert Frost's poetry, as you seem to be developing a liking for it.
You can explore it...... and enjoy it at your leisure.
Have you found one for a decent price?
I picked up a copy of Palgrave's Golden Treasury of poems at a boot fair...and am dipping into that.....
I do like poetry, but more usually the ones that do not rhyme....
No, I didn't bother with a salad...my husband decided, after all, to eat the Shepherd's Pie we had leftover in the fridge......and so I just had a slice of buttered malt loaf !
It was enough in this weather!

Hello, Chris!
Surely the authorities must do regular blood tests for drugs ….with past (fairly recent) history in mind?

Good morning, Elle,
Seems a fine day outside!
A bit cooler, perhaps?
I have not heard of Palgrave?
Well, the thing is, Elle, I dislike poetry, but there is something about Robert Frost's work that appeals to me.
Mind you, I have only tried two of his poems.
There are several books of his poems, and which to choose?
I watched him reading his poem at President Kennedy's inauguration.
He was 86 then, and it appeared as if he could not read his notes.
Kennedy took it in good part, though.
No cooking for me in this hot weather!
Another day in the Alps for the Tour.
I am looking forward to it!

A Very Good morning to you, Rusty!
I had a much fresher walk - in the rain! - this morning...….with thunder rumbling overhead!
It is a tad cooler outdoors...but still very hot inside, and we have both fans going in the lounge.
The forecast looks good though, in that the temperature is set to fall gradually to the lower twenties over the next few days, with rain thrown in!
Palgrave was both a poet and a critic...he collected and published a range of works from other poets, and published them, back in the 1800s.
This has been carried on throughout the years in new editions, but still in his name.

Now, just a thought.......
Maybe it would help you to decide which of Robert Frost's selection of poems to choose, if you look on Amazon where it often gives you an option to "open" the book and read a few pages?
You could then compare the setups, and maybe choose which would appeal to you?
Is this the last day in the Alps for Le Tour?
I do not know their schedule?

Hello, Elle!
Just home!
Was at the garage and LIDL.
Bought lots in LIDL.
They have a great bakery section!
It is still hot here!
Palgrave is a new name to me, Elle.
Always learning!
I never thought of your wheeze of opening the books on Amazon.
Thank you, kindly, for the tip!
I have read some reviews and some were unhappy that the book they purchased did not contain some of his best known poems.
"Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" was one, and I like that one.
I shall have a ponder!
No, tomorrow is the last day in the Alps, and then the run to Paris on Sunday.
Today is a short stage, but still contains massive climbs.
The drama continues!

Good morning Elle and Rusty,

Apparently, we had a thunderstorm early morning, but being
asleep on my 'good ear' I never heard anything! Pleased about that!

It seems that we have lost some degrees, but still will be in the
high 30s today before more storms tomorrow.

Now, I have just read more on Nairo Quintana, and he will be
leaving Movistar for the 2020 season, BUT he is not retiring at
all - I have misheard the commentaries yesterday, and I should
have realized that being only 29, he is much too young to retire!
In fact, he seems to be in great form.
Apparently, it is believed that he will join Team ARKEA -SAMSIC

There has not been an official announcement I don't think, just
strong rumours.

Hi, Rusty!
Try this, Rusty......
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0805069836/ref=rdr_ext_tmb
I have "opened" the pages and it gives a list of the poems inside the volume.
"The Road Not Taken " and "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" do appear to be there......and these are two poems that you like.......
HOWEVER, having said that, I have read the reviews and the writers of such do not appear very satisfied, and say that the poems are NOT there after all?
So possibly misleading?
I do not know what to think?
But the book is available at a very reasonable cost.....you could maybe buy it and see.....
"Goodread" comes up with an alternative book entitled "The Road Not Taken and Other Poems".
I expect you could also download a particular poem?
I hope this is of help?

Good morning, Pigale!
It is a tad cooler here, I think.
I knew Quintana was leaving Movistar but did not know where he was heading.
So, it's Team ARKEA-SAMSIC.
I wonder if money is the attraction there?
I would have thought Movistar would be a natural home for him.
We will hear more in the coming weeks, Pigale, as that is the time the new contracts etc are sorted out.
I saw a nice little clip of LouLou wrapping his yellow jersey around a little boy who was shivering, after yesterday's stage!
I'm sure the young lad will treasure his yellow jersey!

Hello, Elle!
You have discovered my dilemma!
Wildly varying reviews of the books on Robert Frost's poems.
And are "The Road" and "Snowy Wood" in the blooming book, at all!
I only want a simple book of his poems.
Many of these books are for intellectuals who analyse what they think are hidden meanings etc.
I read one lad who thinks "Snowy Wood" is about suicide.
Me being a simple person, I only want to read some of his work, without "experts" telling me what they really mean!
I do have a mind of my own!
It is turned cloudy here and should be cooler tomorrow.
