I think it will be a long time in the future before I am 'having a chuckle' about my grandson's latest escapade (!) but at least I'm no longer shuddering!
It was good to talk on Skype, and to see that the boys are ok, especially the young driver!
And yes, all was well between us all! I worried for nothing!
Speaking though of technology, Rusty, what happened to your idea of buying a Chromebook? I remember Doglet recommending the one she had? An Acer, wasn't it? Did you ever get one?
It's been a dreadful day here weatherwise - it's rained for most of the day and been quite chilly. Dog walking was decidedly 'poggy'!
How were the golf, cycling and horse-racing? Did you have any (successful ) bets?
I managed to finish the Everyman xword altho it took me longer than usual this week!
BGT later.....

That's good you are in recovery mode, Elle!
My chromebook is on the far horizon, but the young ones tell me I am probably entitled to a free edition of Windows 10 when it appears.
But if a chromebook can get me away from the constant palaver Windows has with updating and hard drives and slow starting etc then that is the road I am travelling.
Dry here but chilly.
Hope you enjoy BGT!

I'm not so sure about recovery mode, Rusty.........
I hear that the car brake incident is on Facebook and is being feted as the weekend's amusing story!
I think I must be on another planet... grrh!! (definitely feeling my age at the moment, which I don't usually do!)
Yes, I enjoyed BGT. I liked it far more once all the 'silly' acts were eliminated, and there was genuine competition. Last night's performances were excellent!
I hadn't seen all the acts before - and, no, I hadn't seen the Welsh choir before. They were extremely good. The conjuror was brilliant!
I'm not surprised though that Jules and Matisse won - you know how the British are over animals! and Matisse was very clever - altho' I did think that bringing in the three-legged dog at the end was rather aimed at a sympathy vote!
What did you think of it all?

I have not watched it yet, Elle.
Maybe in the afternoon.
In the semis I thought Cor Glanaethwy were best.
When Ashleigh and Pudsey won previously, I did not think I would see another dog act as good as them.
Looks like they found one!

That's very interesting Jazzy!
It amazes me how you always manage to pluck out the relevant bit of information! It's as though you have it sitting there ready on tap!

re BGT
I didn't like the fact that the main dog had to struggle along two ropes. He obviously found it difficult and I felt sorry for him
I voted Welsh choir

Yes, but your responses are so quick - I google too, but it takes me MUCH longer! and since we've had Windows 8 (rather than XP) I'm even slower!
