Elle, your reactions etc are completely understandable.
No need to torment yourself.
Your daughter will completely understand.
You behaved like any granny would.
So, look forward to chatting with your family tomorrow.
Don't phone too early, though!
And, you have your other daughter who you can phone too. I am sure she shall endeavour to put your mind at ease.
Now off to bed with you.
You need your rest!

Good morning, Doglet!
Splendid!
Yes, Bradford's is my favourite "go-to" dictionary.
A veritable treasure-house of information.
I hope you find time to browse through it when you are not engrossed with the pets and wildlife!

Hi elle
What a shock! I hope you have a good sleep - if not last night (understandable), then tonight.

Morning Elle,
I don't really know you that well yet, but it does not mean I don't feel sympathy for what you are going through - As everyone has already said, your grandson is unharmed and that's what counts - the rest is of little importance and can be explained by the fright you had.
Hope today is a kinder day!

Thank you, Chris and Pigale for our kind comments! Looking back, I obviously over reacted, but yes, it was the shock.

Rusty, morning!
I spoke to my son- in- law earlier this morning (no, not TOO early!) - my daughter was still asleep. Not surprising after the trauma of yesterday.
But he and I had a long chat - hopefully , all is now sorted and peace reigns again!
We are all going to talk on Skype later today- the grandkids too of course. then I can see for myself how the young one is.
I know I should have kept a tighter control on myself - but hey, shock does strange things (and they SHOULD have been more careful! oops, there I go again)
Anything planned for today? (wet here)
'Are you watching BGT on the day as it's the Final?

Of course it was the shock Elle, but it will all come out in the wash.
My husband fell out of the car going round a bend when he was small. He was unharmed and they laugh about it now. I'm not sure if the grandparents were told though!

Doglet, I bought a copy of Bradfords from Amazon quite recently for just 1p (plus £2-80 postage).
it was a 7th edition but in excellent condition.
An amazing book as you say - I've already solved a few cryptic clues thanks to having it.

So...you made it through the night, Elle!
At some point in the future you will have a wee chuckle about all this!
But, you got a fright and we all understand that, as many on here will have youngsters in the family.
I am certain your Skype chat will go very well!
I have heard of Skype but never used it.
(You know me and technology. I am not long out of the cave!)
Yes, they SHOULD have been more careful, but these things happen. Try not to dwell on it.
It is a wee bit dreich here today.
I am home for the day. I have the French Derby to watch, the Irish Open to watch, and the last stage of the Giro to watch.
BGT
i think there may be one or maybe two "wildcards" in the final.
But I am sticking with Cor Glanaethwy to win!
