Update, Rusty!
A fitting end to the European Championships!
GB took Gold in both the Men and the Women's 4 x 100m relays!
We were overall Second - to Russia's First - in the general Medals table, and First in the Athletics' table.
Well done, everyone!
Btw, Gaby Logan referred to the pole vaulter, Timor Murganov, as one of the Russian " neutrals", and commented on the Russians not being included in the Athletics Medal table.
So our surmise was obviously right!

Good morning, Elle!
It's a bit dreich here!
I did not see the relay races.
GB did very well overall, I think.
Yes, it was Morgunov I saw competing in the pole vault competition in the green Nike kit.
And there were several others.
I was pleased for Eilish getting a medal!
And Dr Muir!

Good morning, Rusty!
We have sunshine at the moment here, but rain is threatened for later.
The builders are hard at work , re-pointing the paving stones on the patio terraces.
Fingers crossed they can finish today!
It was a pity you didn't get to see the Relay races!
They were very exciting!
I think they are my favourite part of a competition.
I have a free day apart from looking after the builders.
I have got some strong cardboard boxes, so may make a start on my book clearance........

Good afternoon, Elle!
Still raining here.
Possibility of flooding, apparently!
How is the book clearance going?
It won't be easy!
But if you put your shoulder to the wheel and your left leg in.... no, that's not it, at all!
It is not easy choosing books to discard.
Like betraying old friends!

Hi, Rusty!
It is quite a while since you had occasion to use the word "dreich", as you did this morning!
I hope the flooding will not be anywhere near you ?
Now, book sorting....uhmm...
It is a bit like one step forward and two steps back, or sliding down a greasy pole....!
I'll put a book in the box...and then take two out again!
And the pile of books that I am putting to one side for "just one more read" is steadily growing!
This is obviously going to be a very long project!

Hello, Elle!
Not had a dreich day for a long time.
Been a great summer!
There was a bit of flooding on the road to Pine Cone yesterday.
It did not daunt Miss O's driving, though.
She gaily ploughed through it!
But, I was out driving in the forenoon today and saw no sign of flooding.
So I think we will be OK.
I know exactly how you feel about book sorting!
I have books that I will never read again but want to hang on to them.

Good evening, Rusty!
It is good to hear that the flooding is not affecting you personally.
The builders have done a great job of the re-pointing.
We did have a rain scare ...but it was short-lived and did no damage to the work.
We have sunshine now, so all will be well.
The guys will be back again tomorrow for their last job, which is fixing a leak from above the bay window in the lounge.
I had to put a bucket beneath it during the last storm!
Tomorrow we shall reorganise all our patio plants...and replace the tubs on the newly pointed paving stones!
It should look very nice!

Good morning, Elle!
Rain has stopped!
A bit cloudy though.
Hope it stays dry.
Your builders seem to be going well!
Hope the "book rearranging" is going the same way.
I am off later to see my dentist about what to do with my crown, and hear about her holiday!

Good morning, Rusty!
We have a dry day here as yet.....
The builders have already erected their scaffolding, and are up there fixing the leak above the bay window.
I think it is a fairly big job.
No early morning walk today, as the dog is going to the Groomer's for a 10am appointment.
I have already done my crossword!
A good one today --- all parsed as well!
My only quibble is that I do not pronounce "one" and "won" the same....
Do you?
I hope your crown can be re-fixed!

Hello, Elle!
You are early on the go with your puzzle!
I have not tackled the puzzle yet.
Dentist first!
Yes, I pronounce "won" and "one" the same.
I struggle to think how else they could be pronounced?
I am not much concerned about my crown.
Will see what my dentist thinks and then decide.
I am more concerned if Greggs has closed down or not!
The shop is opposite my dentist's premises.
