Good morning, Rusty!
Another beautiful day here..... but again very hot!
We are just home, having gone out very early to get in a decent length walk........supposedly before the heat set in!
But it is already 27C!
We went to the Nature Reserve and had it almost to ourselves !
I am not stirring again today!!
Time for an ice cold drink.....and my apple and cheese .....and a look at the Everyman!
How about you?

Hello, Elle!
Hot here, too!
I was out earlier with my son, but am home for the day now.
I have the golf and the Tour to keep an eye on, today.
Nice scenery in France!

Hi, Rusty!
Hi, Rusty!
I have just been watching - on YouTube- some of the Highlights of the Diamond League at Lausanne, which I missed out on yesterday.
Lara was running very well in the 1500m, but didn't Shelby Houlihan come up quickly to take first place!
And what a strange incident in the Men's 5000m?
Two Ethiopians...one fell, grabbing at his fellow countryman's shorts, pulling him out of the race.
The second Ethiopian managed to free himself and carry on...coming in second position.
Reports have it that the first guy thought the second had tripped him up?
Retaliation?
What a weird business!
The shorts- grabber was disqualified!!

P.S. Rusty!
I'm sorry about the double salutation!
I've had this happen twice recently...….
I was on the phone when typing......thought I'd "lost" the first line..... but it had slipped up out of sight!

Hello, Elle!
I thought Shelby Houlihan was superb!
At least Laura won't meet her at the European Championships!
I did not see the race with the Ethiopians, though.
Did you see all the green vests?
Hearing the cave rescue is under way at the Thailand caves.
First two boys are out.
Great news!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, it is wonderful news that the boys are successfully being rescued from the Tham Luang cave!
Fantastic team work.
So sad, though, that one of rescuers died when taking oxygen to the boys.
I'm not sure about the dark green vests?
I like bottle green for myself...but it is perhaps not a colour that suits everyone.
This is the video clip of the men's 5000m race
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jk-2cFgRti8
I watched it again.......it was a hand that was grabbed!
Very bizarre!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, a tragedy that one of the rescuers died.
I hope the rest of the boys are rescued, too.
I have no problem with the dark green colour but most of the fields were wearing them.
Surely Nike have other colours?
Strange goings on in the men's 5000 metres!
Never saw anything like that before!

Hi, Rusty!
I have just been talking to my daughter and the boys on the phone!
We are invited to BB's school Sports' Day on Wednesday!
That is very nice!
We shall look forward to it!
Because of the present intense heat - which is set to continue throughout next week - the headmaster has decreed that, this year, the children will compete in sections.
So the Reception class will begin the day's activities , then the children will return to their classroom.....
Followed by Class One (BB's class)...... they will do their races......then in turn go back to their classroom , etcetera....
It seems a very sensible idea under the circumstances....much better than having all the children gathered outside as usual , to watch the entire school compete.
(And the parents get to go home too after their child's participation!)
It is time for an ice cream, methinks!

Good evening, Elle!
That seems a sound idea your headmaster has had!
You will not be their for very long, it appears!
Still hot here!
I watched the golf and cycling this afternoon.
Peter Sagan won today's stage in le Tour and is in the yellow jersey, but he will almost certainly lose it tomorrow, I think.
The chicks at the loch are exercising their wings quite a bit now.
Can't be far of fledging!
