Thanks Elle,
I have heard of Tsonga and Gasquet, but not of any of the others
though, on reflection, Monfils rings a bell.

Not bad a day here, but windy once more.

Enjoy your Tennis final!

Good evening, Elle!
The Pine Cone was no busier than usual.
Doing a good trade in ice cream, too.
It was really warm up there, and a beautiful drive there and back.
Quite cool in the forest, too.

Good evening, Rusty!
I have now (finally) switched off the television!
Goodness me, I shall have to learn to ration myself in the coming few weeks!
I have tennis fever!
Marin Cilic won the Queens Final as you probably already know...... it was an excellent match!
Brilliant play from both players.
Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares lost out to their opponents in the Men's doubles - again, a good match.
I did the Everyman crossword this morning - I found it harder this week than usual.....it might just be me......which I enjoyed.
I've still not finished the ST cryptic though....I shall take another look now.....
Speaking of ice-cream......I have just has Mackies for dessert!

Hello, Elle!
I am glad you enjoyed the tennis.
I watched bits of the football.
Did you see this clip of young Miss Muir when she graduated this week?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland/44582424

She is now "Dogtor" Muir!

Hi, Rusty!
I have only just finished talking to my cousin.......she was late in phoning me this week, as she had been visiting her daughter.
All the family in the great North-West are well!
No, I hadn't seen Laura's interview after her graduation...thank you for the clip!
Bless her! She was really choked up , wasn't she?
She seems such a nice young woman.
I forgot to say that I had been watching some of the tennis (Jamie's match) on the Red Button!
I am so glad to now have a TV where the red button functions okay!
Andrew Castle (ex tennis player and now commentator) was advocating a "Red Button Club" - and suggests everyone wear a T-shirt with suitable logo!
Apparently in Wandsworth, it now costs £10-50 an hour to book a public tennis court!

Lovely to see a youngster graduating after combining her studies with sport at a high level! She became quite emotional, and it is very
understandable!

Hi Ros,
How did your day go? were the grand-kids happy both to see you
and to eat the goodies?
I bet you are tired now, enjoying a small glass of something or
other perhaps?

Hello, Elle!
All good with your kinfolk in the North! Good news!
Yes, poor Laura was a bit emotional, wasn't she!
She has done remarkably well combining top class running with her vet's degree.
I read elsewhere that she has never had a holiday.
Not ever!
She has been either studying or running.
She hopes to have a holiday at the end of the season.
The red button is a very welcome function.
I use it on Sky Sports for the golf.
I can choose which golfers to follow.

Hello, Pigale!
Laura has done great!
Lots of hard work is paying off for her.
Nothing wrong in having a wee cry!
Her parents must be very proud of their little girl!

Hi pigale
You're right about being tired- I had a glass of and forgot to cook any dinner. I slept for about 2 hours which, of course, means I can't sleep now. The children were a bit flat as they had been up late the day before for a wedding. They didn't even seem to enjoy my strawberries and raspberries much.
Not sure if I should have some food at this hour or not!
I've finished all my library books. Maybe a cup of tea and one of the many books on my shelves.
As you don't watch TV, how about the news? I no longer watch it, too depressing. Have you any butterflies about? I saw a red admiral today, first one this year.
I've just spotted a book I don't remember ever seeing before so that's one problem solved

Good morning, Rusty!
I am just returned from a very hot walk!
The temperature is already in the mid -twenties, which is not auguring well ( for me!) for later.
I do not "do" heat!
This may be the only walk for today!
Well, Laura may not have had a "holiday", as such, but she certainly must have been to some very interesting places in the course of her Athletics career......
But I agree, she deserves a 'no holds barred' break!
I may be tempted to watch - on the famous Red Button - the Qualifying Rounds for Wimbledon this morning.......!
Or I may do the crosswords.......
A dilemma!
How are things with you today?

Ros, were you late to bed...or up early?
I noticed the time you posted!
It was extremely hot and humid here last night...
We had the fan on in the bedroom, but I still found it difficult to sleep.

Hello, Pigale!
I have just looked in on the Kestrel babies - my word, they are getting big!
And all was not well on the home front.......
There seemed to be some sort of altercation between three of them!
Fisticuffs!
