Hi Elle and Rusty

Sorry Elle - was watching DVD and not by computer.

Yes, I look on and off at the Barn Owls through each day and
chick No 1 has double its size, if not more. Babe N°2 is still
small, and just born this afternoon is Babe N°3 which is minute
as yet!

Difficult to see because even though they are lively and trying
to escape from underneath Mum, she pushes them back under
and tends to have her back turned to the camera - Must catch
her when she stands up properly either to pop out for a minute or
two, or to change position.

Glad you had a good day Elle - Went shopping to Super U - this
should the last time I NEED to go because of no delivery - the works
are almost finished and deliveries resume Monday onwards - I am
very glad, since even if it is good to go and have a look for oneself
sometimes, it really is much simpler to order on computer and
have everything delivered straight to my kitchen !!!

Hope your son and daughter-in-law have a good journey tomorrow
Rusty - I am sure the girls and you will have a super time!

Good morning, Pigale!
Hope you are fine!
A good idea to get your shopping delivered to your kitchen!
I have not tried it yet.
I like going to the shop and having a chat with the staff there!
I remember the Super U cycling team!
Jacky Durand and Laurent Fignon rode for them, and Gerard Rue.
The girls are in charge of me for two weeks!
Hope we all behave!

Good morning Rusty!

You are up nice and early! For once, it looks like a fine day
outside - Blue sky, sun and temps that promise to get warmer as
the day goes by.

I too like to have a chat with the staff when shopping, and the girls
(there are two who come alternately) who deliver the goods like
to linger for a natter- I guess they like me because, even though
I pay a few euros for the service (to service the van, for petrol etc...)
I always give them a little tip to thank them for carrying the goods
from the gate into my kitchen - I know it is part of the service I pay for
but, you know, in France we tend to tip easily. (probably less so now
than when I was a teenager, but I still do it).

I am going to market today, so there again I will have a chat with
the stalls owners - I know most of them, and even if I don't buy
anything, I have a few words - we have become well acquainted
over the years, particularly the clothes merchants!

Hope you enjoy your day. How is the Giro getting on? I have not
been watching regularly.

Hello, Pigale!
I was out early moving cars and vans about!
Helping my son out, as he is off on his holidays this morning.
I am very lucky with the store staff at ASDA.
They all chat to me and I appreciate that!
Some days I only go to buy my newspaper and it still takes me twenty minutes or more because I am chatting!
The Giro is going well.
Monte Zoncolan in the Alps tomorrow.
That will sort the men from the boys!
They say it is the hardest climb in cycling!
Froome is way behind. Can't see him winning now.
The GC leader is Simon Yates at present.
Thibaud Pinot is going well, and Tom Dumoulin too.

Sorry, elle, I was more thinking that if the crossword setter was defining a kestrel as a hawk.....I shouldn't have mentioned it! We no longer have any kestrels round here and I miss them. I wish Red Kites had never been released - I have seen as many as 8 in the air at once. I don't know in what way they compete with kestrels but since they arrived the latter have disappeared.
In fact nearly all the birds have reduced in numbers except magpies, kites, crows, jackdaws, rooks and pigeons. No starlings or thrushes and only a few great tits and a single robin pair. There aren't many blackbirds or sparrows, either. Cats messing all over my garden, though, especially in the asparagus bed!
Hope you have a great day out and get away from your problems with TW.

i, Rusty!
I'm just checking in to see if you are around?
We are finally home, having had a great day out ....... it was lovely to see our friends.
We do keep in touch by phone and email......but we haven't had any personal contact for quite a while.
When all our children were young, we used to meet regularly, halfway between our homes, and have a picnic!
I well remember playing rounders and cricket!
Did your son and his wife get off all right this morning?
Are you following the flight?
What time will they arrive?

Hello, Ros!
No, it was I who was querying whether a hawk was the same as a kestrel.
I much appreciated your explaining!
Yes, we had a good time, thank you.

Good evening, Elle!
You appear to have had a splendid day out!
My son and his wife landed at Sanford just after 8 this evening.
Flight was late leaving and late arriving.
That seems to be normal on that route.
I am going to visit my daughter-in-law tomorrow, but she has warned me she is watching the Wedding!
"Me too", I told her!
As long as it does not interfere with the Giro!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, it was a good day.....
There was an element of nostalgia involved too.......we indulged in a spot of "Do you remember...?"
Happy memories!
I was expecting the flight to Florida to have taken longer.....but then I never was much good at Geography!
At least you can go to bed knowing that they have arrived safely.
Do you and the girls have any plans for whilst they are away?
We shall be going out early with the dog as usual in the morning...but I shall look in on the wedding at some point......
What time does it all start? I haven't see a TV guide yet.

Glad you had a good day out, elle.
If I were to be watching The Weddng, it would be to see what hats the princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are wearing! However, I have other things to do. I think the TV coverage begins at 9 am, elle, but no idea when the actual service starts. My TV will stay off all day. I am not anti-royals, just uninterested.

Hi elle- just looked it up. Noon, apparently. From what I saw, which was admittedly on the Mirror's web site, it cost £32 million.
